General Psychotherapy Services

I use many approaches in my therapy. Over the years I’ve worked with a myriad of psychological issues and diagnoses.  I use many approaches, depending on clients’ preferences and suitability. On my home page I’ve written a brief explanation of hypnotherapy – what it is and what it is not. Sometimes it can be a stand-alone approach; at other times it is a adjunct to other work. I have found it to be extremely helpful in academic areas – focused study, memory retention, etc.

Examples of issues with which I’ve had a great deal of experience and success:

  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Marital and relationship concerns
  • Anxiety, fear, panic attacks and worry
  • Phobias
  • lotusBehavioral and emotional changes
  • Learning coping skills
  • Using strengths effectively
  • Life transitions: career, relationships, loss and grief
  • Divorce and separation
  • Grief
  • Pregnancy; new baby
  • Parenting stress
  • Test anxiety; creative blocks; performance anxiety
  • Effective time management
  • Maximizing focus and concentration
  • Balance among work, relationships, and family
  • Maintenance of substance abuse recovery
  • Coping with caregiver stress
